The position of Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics reports directly to the Vice President of Enterprise Data & Analytics and manages a team of 7 or more direct reports. The main objective of this role is to spearhead strategic planning for analytics initiatives, mentor the team to deliver top-notch solutions within deadlines, and contribute significantly to the development of innovative prototypes that effectively tackle business challenges and generate enthusiasm within our user community.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities of the Job

What You’ll Do

• Foster the development of a highly proficient team of BI/Analytics experts who efficiently devise intricate solutions (including Reporting, Dashboard/Visualizations & Mobile Applications), thereby promoting uniformity, analytical advancement, and a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
• Nourish robust and transparent partnerships (Networking, Security, Business Process, Infrastructure, Architecture, etc.) to encourage synchronization and cooperation with ongoing, future, and innovative undertakings.
• Proactively oversee end-user experience by establishing comprehensive data points, triggers, KPIs, and notifications, ensuring that job run time, usage, and overall performance adhere to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Disseminate and communicate analytics addressing performance, usage, and business adoption of data domains, reports, and formatted dashboards, and devise a strategy to sustain and enhance them.
• Cultivate a proactive mindset within the team, fostering anticipation of business needs and the resolution of challenges while identifying opportunities and efficiencies.
• Offer regular feedback, coaching, and mentorship to team members, ensuring that everyone has well-documented goals and objectives and a personalized development/career roadmap. Identify prospects for expanding roles through training and participation in unique, challenging initiatives to broaden exposure and enhance skill sets.

Qualifications

• Over 8 years of hands-on experience with MicroStrategy, delivering self-service analytics, insights, KPIs, and metrics within a BI or related role (such as Reporting, Analytics, Statistics, etc.).
• Extensive background spanning 5+ years in crafting intricate SQL queries to facilitate in-depth analysis and generate valuable insights.
• Proficient in managing multi-tier environments, including adept handling of MicroStrategy, version control, and migration strategies.
• Possesses strong client-facing written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective interaction and collaboration with clients.
• Well-versed in agile software delivery methodologies, particularly in utilizing methodologies like Scrum.
• Demonstrates a proactive approach, driven by a passion for analytics and a bias for action, contributing to a highly motivated and results-oriented work ethic.
• Proficiency in data preparation, data modeling, and data visualization, exhibiting a comprehensive understanding of these crucial components within the analytics process

Education

• 10+ years' experience with Business Intelligence / Analytical architecture, frameworks, tools, and development lifecycles with increasing levels of supervisory and leadership responsibilities
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and logical thinking
• Experience identifying use cases opportunities for Data Science & Advanced Analytics, building POC’s to prove out value and justify investment
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with and effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability to engage and manage through influence across a large international organization
• Excellent project management (Agile) and time management skills
