Description

 
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise reports and dashboards, including but not limited to developing, and maintaining SQL queries, stored procedures, Oracle views, Business Objects universes, Crystal reports, etc.
  • Maintain an existing report/dashboard portfolio.
  • Participate in the analysis and specification process for new report and dashboard development.
  • Design, develop, test, tune, and implement DW extracts and data cubes.
  • Fulfill executive requests for ad-hoc analysis.
  • Thoroughly unit and system test work products including working with users in the design and execution of data validation plans.
  • Work with users to perform user acceptance testing and improve work products.
  • Participate in obtaining formal user acceptance of tested reports/dashboards.
  • Must assure that EBI team work products meet committed deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Conduct EBI user support, including assisting users with ad hoc analysis and tool use.
  • Resolve EBI technical problems.
  • Work closely with other EBI and DW team members to collaboratively optimize solutions.

Challenges include multitasking on several development projects concurrently, need to ramp up knowledge of the broadcasting business quickly, and meeting time and quality commitments.

Technical Skills:


Expert skills in:

  • Crystal Reports XI or higher: Sub-reports, drill-down reports, complex formulas, conditional formatting (5+ years experience is a must).
  • report/dashboard development; especially in coding, testing, and implementing in multiple environments (5+ years experience is a must).
  • Best practice report development processes and practices.
  • Best practice dashboard development process and practices.
  • Oracle SQL and MS SQL: Advanced and complex SQL query writing, views, procedures (5+ years experience is a must).
  • Designing and building Business Objects Universes (2+ yrs experience).
  • Use and maintenance of Business Objects Infoview, Business View Manager.
  • Windows script language.
  • Understanding data structures and schemas (especially relational and star schemas).
  • Dashboard development and publishing.
  • Data Warehouse technology.
  • Adoption of new software tools and transfering that knowledge to others.

Preferred experience with:


  • Oracle Financials (including but not limited to Oracle Financial Statement Generator (FSG)).
  • MS Analysis Services (2005 or 2008).
  • SharePoint 2007.
  • Tableau.
  • Source management tools, such as Microsoft Visual SourceSafe.

Other:


  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of broadcast media business desirable, including knowledge of broadcast sales and traffic systems.
  • Knowledge of business and finance terms, principles, concepts and practices.
