Responsibilities:
- Provides technical leadership and in the development of fully integrated technology solutions with regards to IP Storage (CIFS, NFS, FTP, and iSCSI). Acts as technical expert and consultant to develop and propose solutions that meet technology and business.
- Help in defining the overall company NAS strategies and support requirements.
- Provide implementation and administrative tasks surrounding NAS throughout the enterprise.
- Provide positive customer service and advanced communication, problem solving, and technical skills.
- Helps in recommending new NAS technologies to meet future needs.
- Provides backup in Storage Group for SAN and Storage Provisioning as needed
- Responsible for helping to managing the overall enterprise NAS storage environment, Configuration, performance, backup and Recovery all NAS storage.
- Responsible for Enterprise Network Attach Storage (NAS) environment which includes Data Backup, help setup NAS policies and procedures, Recovery of Files Systems for DR, maintain NAS subsystems to meet business objectives and providing 24x7 on-call for NAS subsystems as needed.
- Perform routine capacity planning tasks for NAS storage, generate reports showing the utilization of NAS storage, and provide documentation of the NAS storage environment (i.e., policies and procedures, problem resolution techniques, etc.)
- Maintain the current NAS environments (i.e., coordinating with the vendors to apply patches and firmware updates, scheduling hardware maintenance procedures with users of the systems, etc.) Maintain and manage the NDMP backup and recovery infrastructure.
- Ensure data integrity and DR processes are maintained and that NAS data replication/recovery operations are successfully executed. Work with the various infrastructure system administration teams across the enterprise to understand and meet their NAS storage needs.
- Participates in rotational 24x7 on-call duties
Desired Experience
Qualifications:
- Understanding of SAN Technologies Responsible for Fabric Switch Configuration (Zoning). Zone and Configure SAN storage.
- Disaster Recovery Support - Experience Developing and maintaining Open Systems disaster recovery and business continuity procedures. Participate in testing disaster recovery plan.
- Experience NAS Backup and Recovery - NDMP Backup and recovery techniques, Interface with TSM.
- Storage Area Network (SAN) configuration and administration. Understanding of SAN architecture and configuration best practices. (fan out ratios, LUN masking, fibre specs, switch specifications, SAN security/Port Zoning, core-to-end, n-tier, etc)
- Administration of NDMP and/or other backup technologies.
- Technical proficiency in relevant operating systems and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of STK and IBM Automated Tape Libraries, EMC CDL and Tape drives.
- Be Experienced in INTEL based (CIFS) File Share Technologies.
- Working Knowledge and Experience with McData Directors, EMC Celerra (NAS) and Clariion Subsystems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, CIFS, NFS, FTP, and iSCSI. Ability to quickly learn and grasp new technology.
